BELEEV A9 Kids Scooter Review: Fun LED Scooter for Kids

In my continued search for a fun looking kids scooter that actually gets kids outside, but isn’t super cumbersome for parents, I came across the BELEEV A9 Kids Scooter which happens to be one of the cooler options.

The lights are what catch your eye first. The wheels illuminate while in motion, and the deck features multi-mode lighting so your child can shine bright on their evening rides. Digging a little deeper you’ll notice this scooter isn’t just flashy lights. It really zones in on stability, easy handling for beginners, portability and longevity to grow with your kids.

Digging through the specs, reviews and overall impressions I have ridden myself I totally understand why parents are reporting satisfaction with this scooter. It seems to be a favorite for the young rider just out-growing their beginner scooter and ready to upgrade to something that feels “cooler” without getting too tricky or dangerous to handle.

First Impressions

Arguably the first thing kids will notice about the BELEEV A9 are the lights.
Light-up wheels are common on scooters but this scooter has battery-powered deck lights with different display options. The lights can pulse, chase, fade, or cascade while you ride depending on which setting you choose. While that may not sound like a big deal to adults, the lighting on this scooter alone will make kids think its way cooler than a regular kick scooter.

Of course the features that are important to parents are things like weight, foldability, and handlebar height.

The BELEEV A9 Kids Scooter features bright LED wheels and deck lights, making indoor and outdoor rides more exciting for kids.

This scooter is lightweight at only about 6.1 lbs, folds up fairly quickly, and the handlebars are adjustable with four different heights. Kids won’t immediately outgrow this scooter in a year.

The deck is also wide and low to the ground, the rubber grips look more durable than the foam handles on cheaper scooters, and the lean-to- steer feel seems like it would be safer for beginners.

Build Quality and Materials

One aspect where the BELEEV A9 excels was somewhat unexpected: build quality.

From the reviews we noticed that parents say the scooter rides solid. Quite a few reviewers mentioned how smooth it rides and how solid it feels.

We have to point out the handlebar grips here. Most kids scooters use soft foam grips which will wear out quickly. BELEEV opted for built-in rubber grips. While this seems minor, it’s important in the real world. Foam grips will begin to tear from normal outdoor usage pretty quickly as kids drop their scooter over and over.

The deck itself looks to be well put together as well.

The ultra wide 125mm deck allows for more foot space for kids. This is great for new riders as they learn to balance, as they will feel more stable. The deck also has an anti-slip texture which will help provide confidence if your shoes are a little damp from the playground or park.

LED Lights: The Biggest Selling Point

Honestly, if kids had their way this feature would likely be the number one reason they asked their parents to buy them the scooter.
When in motion, the wheels light up automatically. The faster the scooter is traveling, the brighter the wheel lights illuminate. The wheel LEDs are powered by motion so there are no batteries needed for that system.

The deck lighting system is even cooler.

The BELEEV has multiple LED deck lighting modes that create dynamic light movements across the deck. Users can select their favorite pattern. So far kids seem to love the rainbow fade (as requested by many customers).

When actually using the light feature, it serves 2 purposes.

  • It makes riding the scooter fun.
  • The lights also offer a bit more visibility if you’re riding during the evenings in parks or neighborhoods. This doesn’t mean your kids should replace turning on lights when riding at night, or a parent losing supervision. But having that extra visibility doesn’t hurt.

If you’re shopping for scooters and compare the BELEEV A9 to a basic scooter that looks nearly identical, the A9 definitely stands out.

Riding Experience and Handling

All indications are that the ride is one of the strong suits of this scooter.

Lean-to-steer scooters steer by shifting weight instead of yanking the handlebars to the side. Many kids find this type of steering more intuitive. It also helps eliminate oversteering catastrophes.

There is usually only a brief getting used to period with new riders.

After new riders learn to lean-to-steer they tend to have a smoother ride. They turn easier which helps with balancing too.

The wide wheels help with the ride as well. Big wheels roll over cracks and small bumps easier than itty-bitty hard wheels like you find on many inexpensive scooters.

The short deck also aids with riding because younger kids won’t have to push their foot up as high off the ground to help keep their balance.

It looks like this scooter is extra kid-friendly for new riders but still fun enough for kids who have been riding for a little while.

Foldable Design and Portability

Portability ranks nearly as high on parents’ lists as ride quality.

Luckily, the BELEEV A9 is pretty lightweight and folds up to a decent size.

Weighing only 6.1 pounds, most parents won’t struggle to pick it up should the kids suddenly realize they are “too tired” to ride themselves home. Seriously, that feature alone can be a lifesaver during family adventures.

It also folds up compactly, making storage simple at home or in apartments, car trunks, and more.

Something else I like hearing from users is that assembly doesn’t appear too difficult. Users generally report that setup is fast and easy after you learn how the locking mechanism operates.

All of this makes the BELEEV A9 fantastic for families who find themselves jumping around to parks, playgrounds, grandparents’ homes, or vacation spots frequently.

Safety Features

Scooter safety isn’t about high-tech features or brightly colored graphics when shopping for kids. Practicality and stability reign supreme.

On a positive note, the BELEEV A9 is designed with several child-friendly safety features.

Extra-Wide Anti-Slip Deck

Provides kids with ample footing room on deck. The additional stability is helpful for new riders. Texture on the deck surface also helps with slip-resistance.

Lean-to-Steer Design Stability

Kids tend to lose their balance with traditional sharp-steering scooters. Lean-to-steer momentum allows for more gradual turns and natural body positioning.
It also allows kids to work on their balance and motor skills without as many abrupt wipeouts. Smoothly rolling stability is always a bonus!

Built-in Stainless Steel Rear Foot Brake

Brakes are simple yet offer some nice touches. A stainless steel plate reinforces the main brake pad that’s attached to the rear wheel.

Responses seemed adequate during normal neighborhood and park use. Kids also have an easier time maintaining stability when stopping due to the oversized rear wheel.

Low Center of Gravity Deck Height

The lower deck height allows kids to ride with less of a center of gravity.
Making it easier to handle and ensuring beginners feel confident while riding.

Real Customer Feedback

Scrolling through real customer reviews I see a very enthusiastic reaction to the BELEEV A9.

The most frequently repeated comments from parents are:

  • Simple assembly
  • Smooth ride
  • Cool/bright lights
  • Feels durable/heavy
  • Decent stability for beginners
  • Kids want to ride everywhere

etc.

I especially loved this review where an older sibling was seemingly uninterested but the parents bought some of his younger siblings some scooters and when he saw how much fun they were having with theirs he wanted one as well!

Typically when I read that kind of thing it’s a great indication of real world fun-factor.

I also notice that kids love the lighting system. To us as adults it’s novelty but to them its extra fun!

Lastly it looks like this scooter can take a few beatings around the neighborhood. Just like any lightweight kids scooter this isn’t meant for hardcore skatepark use but should hold up well on sidewalks, parks, and smooth pavement.

Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5

The BELEEV A9 Kids Scooter hits a really nice balance of FUN and FUNCTION. The cool LED lights make it FUN for kids, and the lean-to-steer system, oversized deck, and light-weight fold-up design make it FUNCTIONAL for everyday life. It’s especially perfect for ages 3-10 who want a steady scooter that still looks… well, COOL!

Final Verdict

BELEEV A9 Kids Scooter – They did a great job striking a balance between cool factor, ease of use, and being entry-level.

Most kids scooters sacrifice everything but style with lame ride quality and floaty unstable decks. This one seems to hit both moderately effectively.

Bright LED deck lights and wheel illumination catch kids eyes right away. But the lean-to-Steer design, extra-wide deck, and light weight offer up some genuinely useful features parents can get behind as well.

If you’re shopping for something recreational your kids can take around the neighborhood, to the park, or just cruise around outside, I have no reservations recommending the BELEEV A9.

Not something I would pick over a higher-end cruiser scooter by any means, but considering the lights, portability, and stable ride this one has some excellent bang for the buck.
